Dallas is a total individual and I love her to bits. To celebrate her burgeoning adulthood we met up at the Wilson County Fairgrounds. With it's mix of art, history, and all things original, the location fit Dallas perfectly. The girl has an amazing spirit, an intoxicating laugh, and a kind heart. I can't wait to see how she decides to live her life. However she chooses to live it, she will most definitely do it laughing.

    Dallas's parents: You guys are such a breath of fresh air. Dallas is a lucky girl!

    I photographed another residence for my wonderfully talented builder friend John Eldridge. This beautiful home was so much fun to shoot. My favorite room of the house was the "Montessori" playroom. The light that spills in is perfection. What a happy, happy little space.

    Just wanted to share a few images of this lovely home I shot this past week. I'm not an interiors photographer by trade, but a friend of mine, John Eldridge, is an amazing builder in the Nashville area. I shot several properties for his company, but just really liked the style and vibe of this guy's home in particular. Had I thought more about blogging personally I would have taken way more detail shots as there were so many I most definitely missed!! I thoroughly enjoyed photographing a still object for a change.

    Love all of the dark wood and white, and the unique fixtures.

    I photographed Georgette and Charlie (and their two sweet dogs) on a perfect fall day in Pulaski, TN. These two hotties are getting married on the West Coast next year. Going back and forth with Georgette was super fun and a photographer's dream. She loves photography and had a clear vision of what she wanted out of our shoot. Charlie is a super nice, laid back guy. He was also totally into everything I was asking him to do (haha). Charlie has made a career of playing baseball, so naturally we had to take advantage of a local baseball field. For part two of our shoot, Charlie's wonderful parents let us use the beautiful land surrounding their rustic log cabin home. We roamed around the property for sweet spots and found them pretty easily. Ponds, barns, tractors, colorful forests......we found it all. This couple's vibe was as perfect as the scenery. Charlie and Georgette, it was so great meeting you and spending time with you. Looking forward to seeing those SoCal wedding photos! xoxo

    I recently spent a sunny Saturday morning hanging out with the Lantz family. They are such an attractive bunch! And lots of fun too! Swinging on swings, four wheeling, hanging out in a viper, talking to cicadas, swimming…they packed in a ton of fun stuff while i was there! This made me and my camera very happy. The names of these gorgeous and very talented children are Jayden, Makena, and Kelton. They are super duper beautiful…all three of them. Serious model quality stuff going on here. Thanks so much for letting me capture your sweet family.

    XXVI (I do not love you…)

    By Pablo Neruda

    I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,

    or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.

    I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,

    in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

    I love you as the plant that never blooms

    but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;

    thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,

    risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

    I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.

    I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;

    so I love you because I know no other way

    than this: where I does not exist, nor you,

    so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,

    so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

    Leigh and Stephen….you two are a magical couple. Thank you so much for letting me in on this day. It was honest and absolutely beautiful. Blessings to you both. Enjoy forever together. <3

    Today was one of those drizzly overcast days (which I happen to LOVE) that are best spent wandering aimlessly about. I spent a few hours out at The Factory in Franklin, waiting for a client to arrive. As I walked around the exterior of the building, I was surprised by all of the goodness I found to photograph. If you’ve never taken notice of all of the unforeseen beautiful little parts that make up The Factory, go visit and pay attention. I love all of the old textures and random set ups. Both indoors and out. I only got my camera out for a few minutes, and I only took a few shots outside, but the inside of The Factory is pretty neat too.

    Last weekend I hopped in a swanky rental car (well, swanky for me) and headed south to Oxford, Mississippi to photograph a wedding. I had never been to Oxford and was looking forward to driving through the countryside and relaxing in my down time. I had the luxury of being set up in an elegant French inspired bed and breakfast called "The Z", where I stuffed my face with all sorts of yummy homemade awesomeness (gigantic homemade cinnamon rolls smothered in warm maple frosting, vermont white cheddar grits, homemade biscuits with gravy....ugh!) and enjoyed a massive bed all to myself. The Z is one of the most charming places I've ever stayed in. It is co-owned by two young sisters who are living out their dream. I fell in love with all of the muted tones, rich decor (chandeliers everywhere), and overall warm hospitality at the Z. In fact, I may be headed back to Oxford in the near future, just to stay in this wonderland again (afterall, I  didn't do much sight seeing this time around).

    If you ever need a weekend getaway, I highly recommend the short drive (if in TN) to Oxford, and a stay at the Z! I give it way more than 5 stars. Check out their site at

    Tell me you don't LOVE this place already??
